This horse is inspired by  actual images from Plains Indians drawings in ledger books in the late 1800’s.  Collect all 8 Ledger Book Designs.

The  Ledger Book designs in this collection are grounded in a rich tradition of hide painting for shields, buffalo robes and tipis.  The decimation of the buffalo coincided with the access to paper and pencil, leading to drawing in ledger books in the late 1800’s.  With this change in  materials and purpose, the ledger drawings became a personal artistic expression and an accounting of historical happenings.
